This is my first blog. So anyone reading this, if you have suggestions I will gladly accept them.
Since it is my first blog I will give a short background on the name. I have this thing about predicting sports outcomes(I am usually wrong but do it anyway). Everything from who will win the Super Bowl to who will be the next coach for the USF Bulls.
I have been thinking of writing a blog for a long time now. I finally decided to do it after some kind words of encouragement by one of my best friends. So I kind of dedicate my induction to the blog world to him.
For the most part all my blogs are going to be about sports. I will be giving my thoughts on all sorts of stuff having to do with sports. And of course I will probably include one prediction in each one.
The first topic I will ever blog about is going to be the admission of Mark Mcgwire taking steroids. This admission is kind of funny to me. We all knew he took them so it should not come as a shock to anyone. I do not know about anyone else, but I do not feel any different about him now then I did before he admitted what we all already knew. The whole purpose of the admission was self serving and pointless to me. He only did it because my guess is he was forced to come clean in order to keep his job as the hitting coach for the Cardinals.
I think it is sad what has happened to baseball. You might as well wipe out over a whole decade of scores and records. They all mean nothing now. We will never know if any of it would have happened or not with out steroids.
To me it is also comical the way all these guys are reading from the book of Andy Pettitte. Tell everyone you only took the drugs to heal faster or to stay healthy so you could play more or sooner. Who ever came up with that excuse was a genius. That excuse just about makes it sound like taking the drugs was like taking aspirin for pain so you can play. Let me tell you Mark Mcgwire did not take steroids so he could stay healthy. He took them so he would perform better. Heck my guess is the steroids caused him to be injured so often. What makes it worse is people like Mark Mcgwire, Alex Rodriguez, and Barry Bonds would all have probably been Hall Of Fame type players without taking any performance enhancing drugs.
I am going to end my first blog a little short. My one and only prediction for the first blog is who I think the next head coach of the USF Bulls is going to be. I think they will hire Skip Holtz.

Great first blog! I'm looking forward to reading more. Also, I completely agree with everything you said about McGwire and baseball. As for the USF prediction...interesting choice, but possible.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I really have not clue about USF. Have not been hearing much. If not him maybe Calvin Magee. I am shocked Tommy Bowden is not getting more interest from anyone.
